Lessons from global team science

Scientific perspectives published in Cancer Discovery

New scientific perspectives have been published in Cancer Discovery by the inaugural Cancer Grand Challenges teams, PRECISION, Mutographs, IMAXT and Rosetta, as they come to the end of their funding.

Lessons learned

In 2017, we awarded over $90m of funding to four teams to take on our first round of challenges — 3D tumour mapping, lethal versus non-lethal cancers and unusual mutation patterns.

In the January issue of Cancer Discovery, our inaugural teams were invited to reflect on the lessons learnt from this team science endeavour and highlight how they each addressed their respective challenges, advancing their fields and changing the way we think about and study cancer.
